The Developer Spectrum Wall Chart, Office Edition
Writing code can mean a hundred different jobs. One person brings a circuit board to life. Another builds the app on your phone. Another keeps a whole company's servers running.
The Developer Spectrum puts all of it on one wall. Read it left to right, from the people who make the machine to the people who put it to work, and every team in the building can find itself and see who works next door.
Sixteen stations run across the chart, each with the tools of its trade and a line on how its people think: firmware thinks in registers, interrupts and bytes, while front-end web thinks in pages, layouts and clicks. Beneath them, six degree programs and twenty job titles stretch across the stations they cover. Further down: the math you will actually use, and how much ground one engineer covers at a small company compared with a large one.
The office edition carries the chart's title and the author's credit in the corner, with a clean panel in place of the workshop logo. It suits an engineering floor, a team room, a hiring manager's office, or a lab.
